Why I chose WTM Ambassador Program

As a woman in the technology industry, I have always been passionate about empowering other women to succeed in the field. That’s why I was thrilled to be chosen as an ambassador for the Women Techmakers program (see my acceptance email above). Being part of this program has not only allowed me to contribute to the empowerment of other women but has also helped me grow my own skills and network.

What WTM Offers

Women Techmakers is a global program aimed at creating more opportunities for women in technology. The ambassador program is an extension of this mission, with ambassadors working to promote the program and encourage more women to join. Thanks to the smooth onboarding session conducted by Caitlin Morrissey, I quickly observed that the Ambassadors come from all over the world and work to create local events and initiatives that support women in tech. As an ambassador, I have had the opportunity to connect with other women in technology. Through various ambassador-exclusive events, such as the WTM ambassador academy, we have been provided with networking opportunities, workshops, and other resources to support women in tech.

Benefits of WTM Progam

One of the most significant benefits of being a Women Techmakers ambassador has been the opportunity to build my own skills and knowledge. I am provided with plenty of opportunities to learn from Google employees who are working on the latest technologies! The program provides training and resources to ambassadors to help us create effective events and initiatives. Such training has helped me to develop my leadership and communication skills, as well as improve my ability to organize and execute successful events.

In addition to personal growth, being an ambassador has also helped me to expand my professional network. Through Women Techmakers, I have connected with other women in tech who have become mentors and friends. These connections have helped me to grow my career and provided me with a supportive network of like-minded individuals.

Another benefit of being an ambassador has been the opportunity to give back to my community. I am always inspired to help other women, and through WTM’s mentorship program, I’ve been able to achieve that goal. I have mentored many early-stage career women from various countries such as Nepal, India, etc. It is so thrilling to see how I was able to spark the technical interests of those women. As a result, I am still in touch with them and often have Zoom calls to discuss anything that they may need my support with. Through the WTM Ambassador program, I have been able to provide support to women who may not have had access to them otherwise. It has been incredibly rewarding to see the impact my work has had on other women.

In conclusion, being a Women Techmakers ambassador has been an incredible experience that has allowed me to give back to my community, grow my skills, and connect with other women in tech. Together, we can create a more diverse and inclusive technology industry that empowers all individuals to succeed.
